The Jetpilot RX Racing Collection is built for riders who treat the race line as gospel. Every piece in the Vault family — life jackets, helmets, race johns, back braces, wetsuits — has been engineered alongside Jetpilot's pro race team and tested at competition speed since 1985. For 40+ years Jetpilot has set the safety benchmark for the PWC race industry, and Vault has been the first choice of world champions for decades.
40+ years engineering for the race line
Since 1985, Jetpilot has been building gear for jet ski racing — long enough to know that hitting the water at full chat isn't the same as a casual cruise. The RX Vault range is the product of four decades of feedback loops between pro riders, race engineers and the chop. It's why Vault won the 2026 Internationally Recognised Good Design Award — judged against the world's top product entries — confirmation of what serious racers have known for a generation: this gear performs under load.
Impact absorption + kinetic deflection — built for the hits
The Vault life jackets, race johns and back braces use Jetpilot's proprietary impact absorption and deflection construction — multi-density foam zones, segmented buoyancy and reinforced impact panels engineered to disperse the kinetic load of high-speed water entry. Land flat at full speed and the Vault Pro-Tech doesn't ride up. Get clipped by a tow rope or another ski's hull and the back brace and race john panels deflect the load — they don't just absorb it. Gear that's been to the worst-case scenarios so you don't have to.
What's in the RX Racing range
Every category a competitive PWC rider needs: Vault Pro-Tech life jackets in mens, ladies, youth and SE-spec; the Vault Helmet in standard and Heat Seeker variants; Vault Race Boot for foothold on slick decks at speed; Vault Race John pants with reinforced impact zones; Protech back braces and leg guards; plus Vault Vision Race goggles, Heat Seeker race gloves and Vault wetsuit tops.
Race-grade certification — ISO 12402-5 + EN 1385
Every Vault life jacket is certified to ISO 12402-5 as a 50N buoyancy aid — the standard for performance watersports. Jetpilot's adult range is 50N-only by design; the offshore 100N category isn't built for racing. The Vault Helmet is certified to EN 1385 for canoeing and watersports — the European standard for impact, retention and field-of-view at race speed. Both are CE-marked and recognised across the EU.
Vault is unisex — for men, women, world champs
RX and Vault are the same family, used interchangeably in product names. Per Jetpilot's unisex policy, men's-cut Vault gear is also tagged for the women's collections, and ladies-specific cuts (Vault Ladies Race Jane, Vault Ladies Neoprene Shorts) sit alongside. Browse the broader range via jet ski life jackets, jet ski helmets, men's wetsuits, or ladies life jackets.
Frequently asked questions
Is the RX Vault life jacket suitable for women?
Yes. Per Jetpilot's unisex policy, all Vault life jackets fit both men and women — the shaping is gender-neutral. For ladies-specific anatomical cuts (Vault Ladies Race Jane), see the ladies life jackets collection.
What makes the Vault back brace and race john different?
Both use multi-density impact foam with kinetic deflection panels — engineered to disperse load on impact rather than absorb it head-on. It's the same construction raced by Jetpilot's world-champion team riders, and the reason the Vault range took home the 2026 Good Design Award.
What's the 2026 Good Design Award about?
The Vault range won the 2026 Internationally Recognised Good Design Award — recognition of Jetpilot's design innovation across the line, judged against the world's top product entries. Forty-plus years of race-track-to-product development, validated by the design world.
Does the Vault range fit youth or kids riders?
The Vault Pro-Tech Youth and Vault Race Kids John versions size for youth (under 50kg). For under-30kg infants, Jetpilot's Cause Infant range is the correct call — that one is ISO 12402-4 (100N) per infant safety regulation, the only adult-vs-infant exception in the line.
Why 50N and not 100N for jet ski racing?
ISO 12402-5 (50N) is the right rating for active watersports — wearer is conscious, swimming, reacting. The cut is slimmer and more mobile, without compromising on impact-zone foam. ISO 12402-3 (100N) is for offshore use where the wearer might be unconscious — wrong fit for racing.
