World Champion Title for Poret @Aquabike China

Thursday, 6 October 2016

Today we want to inform you about the latest 2 rounds of the Aquabike World Championship. The best athletes came together again to compete for the title in China.

From September 23 - 25 the Aquabike Championship made a stop in Shanghai, where Kevin Reiterer won and left pointí leader Jérémy Poret behind him, who still made it to 3rd place, with Spaniard Nacho Armillas finishing 2nd. Rok Florjancic was able to extend his lead in the Freestyle category in Shanghai.

The second race in China was held during Oct 3 - 5 in Liuzhou. Kevin Reiterer was off to a great start, scoring pole positon for race day. However, Jérémy Poret was the one to take home the Ski GP1 title once again. The opening race produced high drama with all three of Poretís title rivals hitting trouble and failing to post points, defending champion Kevin Reiterer retiring on lap 4 of 9, Stian Schjetlein failing to start and Nacho Armillas struggling to get round at all and finishing four laps down. With his rivals starting race 2 on the outsides of the line, there was no pressure on Poret, but he delivered a second perfect performance to take another comfortable win, and with it the world and GP title. In Freestyle, Rok Florjancic made it to the highest place on the podium once more.

The final round of the Aquabike World Championship will take place in Sharjah in the UAE December 19-21.
