Aquabike World Championship Denia, Spain
Monday, 27 June 2016
The latest race of the Aquabike World Championship took place in Denia, Spain last weekend. The best riders from all over the world met again to compete and race along the Mediterranean coastline in the city of Denia, Spain.
Our team rider Jeremy Poret performed particularly well and took 1st place in Ski Division GP 1, with team rider Kevin Reiterer following him and making 4th place. Poret was pushed very hard for seven of the 10 laps by Reiterer but a broken driveshaft ended Reiterer’s good position, leaving Poret comfortably clear of the chasing but distant drivers and taking the win by 12 seconds. “To take my first win with my new Ski feels very good,” said Poret. “I am sorry for Kevin but I am proud of this result for me and my whole team. I now lead the championship and that’s where I want to stay.” Poret could be especially happy because his sister, Estelle, took 1st place in the Ladies GP 1 class, which made the siblings become the first to win Grand Prix titles at the same event.
In Freestyle Skydive, Rok and Nak Florjancic took 2nd and 3rd place.
We are happy about the great performances and already looking forward to the next Aquabike World Championship race in Mirandela, Portugal, which will take place July 22-24.
